Position Overview:

As a Service Department Assistant at Thelen Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our automotive service department. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including answering phones, filing, scheduling appointments, and assisting with booking repair orders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing customer inquiries, providing information, and assisting with appointment scheduling.
  • Appointment Coordination: Work closely with the service advisors to schedule appointments for vehicle repairs and maintenance, accommodating customer preferences and availability.
  • Repair Order Support: Assist in creating and booking repair orders, ensuring accurate information and details are recorded in our systems.
  • Documentation and Filing: Maintain organized and up-to-date files for customer records, service history, and other essential documentation.
  • Customer Consultation: Engage with customers to gather initial information about their vehicle's issues, ensuring clear communication to facilitate the service process.
  • Customer Education: Provide basic information about the services we offer and answer general questions about our service department.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with service advisors, technicians, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Follow-Up: Initiate follow-up calls to customers about service timelines and repairs.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks, including data entry and general office duties as required.

  • Automotive Interest: A basic understanding of automotive terminology and services is a plus, but not mandatory.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior customer service experience, preferably in an automotive or service-related setting, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with DMS scheduling software and office applications is preferred, but will train the right person
