With the kids on summer vacation, now is the perfect time to plan out a movie night. At Thelen Auto Group in Bay City, Michigan, we especially enjoy automotive-inspired movies! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – Who doesn’t love a classic movie with sing-along songs?  When an eccentric inventor buys a beat-up motorcar and transforms it into a flying and floating dream machine, you can expect hilarity to ensue.  Wholesome fun for the whole family!

Herbie the Love Bug – Another classic (with one modern take) following a magic Volkswagen Beetle race car.  A down-on-his-luck racecar driver begins to win race after race with Herbie and teams up with friends to go on a wild ride.

Cars Series – This list couldn’t be complete without bringing up Disney’s Cars series.  It is the leader in children’s car movies for a reason – it’s funny, heartwarming, and shows animated talking vehicles.  What isn’t there to love?  These movies are perfect for the whole family since the humor transcends generations.

Speed Racer – Based on the old-school cartoon series, the modern take on Speed Racer is high-paced fun.  It offers futuristic cars, impressive visuals, and a fearless main character who just wants to race.

Back to the Future – Join Doc and Marty McFly as they take the time-traveling DeLorean into the past and back to the future in this 80s blockbuster.  These films are perfect for older children and teenagers, but might not be to the liking of a young child.
